Tehran - (Saba):
Tajeddin Salehian, deputy political and security official for the governor of Ilam, announced on Monday that Iran's air defense system had shot down an advanced Israeli drone in the skies over Ilam Province.
Iranian News Agency (IRNA) quoted Salehian as saying, "This drone was shot down by the Islamic Republic of Iran's air defense systems this morning, Monday, in the Ain al-Souleh area of Dasht-e Abbas district in the border city of Dehloran."
He added, "This drone is an MQ9 manufactured by General Atomics in the United States."
Salehian called on citizens to report any suspicious activity to police, security, intelligence, and military authorities.
Yesterday, Saturday, the country's western air defense system shot down three advanced Israeli drones in the skies over Ilam Province.
It is noteworthy that the Zionist entity launched an aggression on Friday against areas in Tehran and other cities in the country, and several residential buildings were bombed in these attacks.
