The Israeli Ministry of Energy announced a temporary halt to gas pumping from the Karish and Leviathan fields in the Mediterranean Sea due to the deteriorating security situation. Meanwhile, oil refining facilities in Haifa Bay were damaged as a result of an Iranian missile attack.
The state-owned Israel Natural Gas Lines Company said in a statement on Sunday that it had received instructions from the Energy Minister to halt natural gas pumping from the Karish and Leviathan offshore fields, it warned that the decision could impact the activities of several energy companies listed on the Jaffa Stock Exchange (Tel Aviv), which rely heavily on gas supplies from these sites.
