Beijing - (Saba):
China has allocated 40 million yuan from the central government budget to support emergency rescue and disaster relief efforts in Hainan and Guangdong provinces and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
The Chinese Ministry of Finance explained in a statement on Sunday that the financial support came as Typhoon Wutip caused heavy rains and flooding in parts of the southern region.
The statement added that the funds will be used for the evacuation and resettlement of those affected, the removal of hazardous materials and risk mitigation, as well as secondary disaster risk inspections.
