Ramallah – Saba:
The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission has stated that the Israeli enemy authorities tightened the closure of most checkpoints and gates of all kinds in the Palestinian territories on Friday.
The head of the commission, Mu'ayyad Shaaban, explained in a statement that indications coming from all governorates indicate that the enemy authorities have tightened their closure of most entrances to Palestinian villages, towns, and cities, in a clear attempt to commit the crime of collective punishment against citizens.
Shaaban added that the closure system flagrantly violates the basic rights guaranteed to the Palestinian people, especially the right to movement and to receive medical treatment. He added that what is happening these days constitutes an extension of an endless series of repressive measures practiced by the Israeli enemy against Palestinian citizens, through which it deliberately closes roads to Palestinian landowners, while remaining open to settlers, in a new layer added to the layers of apartheid and racial segregation observed by the official establishment.
He stated that most of the 898 gates, checkpoints, and intentional obstacles, of all shapes and types, were closed this morning to Palestinian citizens, including 224 new checkpoints and gates whose repositioning and modifications took place after October 7, 2023.
He considered this to be the culmination of the terrorism practiced against the Palestinian people, represented by closures and the denial of the right to movement, guaranteed by all international laws. This continuation of the perception of the Palestinian landowner as a subject subject to punishment and subjugation at any moment of tension experienced by the Israeli enemy.
Shaaban warned of premeditated plans sponsored by the official Israeli establishment, which have recently coincided with the closure of Palestinian lands, to simultaneously empower settlers to carry out attacks and arson attacks against citizens, their property, and their lands, as occurred in the recent waves of closures, which settlers exploited to commit crimes.
Shaaban called on the Palestinian people to remain vigilant and extremely cautious regarding settlers' attempts to carry out terrorist attacks sponsored by the enemy army.
He called for these attacks to be thwarted by activating protection committees and working together with all popular and official national frameworks to protect Palestinian citizens and national resources.
