Pezeshkian: Protecting oppressed Palestinian people principled, fixed policy of Iran
[11/ June/2025]
Tehran – Saba:

President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian affirmed on Wednesday that protecting the oppressed around the world, especially the oppressed Palestinian people, is a principled and fixed policy of Iran.

During his meeting in Tehran with Jamil Mazhar, Deputy Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Pezeshkian said that protecting the Palestinian people stems from the authentic teachings of the Islamic Revolution, according to the Iranian News Agency (IRNA).

Pezeshkian pointed out that this belief is based on the life of Imam Khomeini (may God be pleased with him) and the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, and everyone proceeds from this firm belief to devote all of Iran's capabilities to defending the oppressed people of Palestine.

He emphasized Iran's serious desire to unify positions and combine efforts among Islamic countries to support the Palestinian people, saying: "Work is underway to harness all diplomatic and political energies to immediately halt the Zionist crimes in the Gaza Strip." The Iranian president attributed the continued Zionist crimes in the Gaza Strip and the deplorable conditions of the defenseless people there to "the lack of unity, cohesion, and rapprochement among Islamic countries."

The President added, "What we are calling for today is to exert efforts aimed at strengthening rapprochement, brotherhood, and good neighborliness among the countries of the Islamic world, in order to reach a common vision and position on regional and international issues, including the Palestinian issue."

Pezeshkian continued, "One of the priorities we have always emphasized during meetings with world leaders and our presence at international forums is the issue of defending the oppressed Palestinian people."
