Bolivia condemns Israeli hijacking of Gaza-bound humanitarian aid ship
[10/ June/2025]
La Paz – Saba:

The Bolivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned on Tuesday the Israeli enemy military's hijacking of the humanitarian aid ship "Madeleine" on Monday, which was heading to the Gaza Strip.

The Bolivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that these actions constitute a serious violation of international law, the principles of the UN Charter, and the fundamental rights of the Palestinian people.

It emphasized that this new incident adds to a series of systematic crimes committed by the Israeli entity, in a pattern of aggression, siege, and collective punishment against the Palestinian civilian population, as part of the crime of genocide that has been complained about by several international organizations, including the International Organization for Justice.

The Ministry emphasized the need to immediately lift the illegal blockade on Gaza, release detained activists, and halt all acts of violence and military aggression against the Palestinian people.

Bolivia called on the international community, particularly the United Nations, to take immediate and effective measures to ensure the protection of the Palestinian people and respect international humanitarian law.

With American and European support, the Israeli enemy army has continued to commit genocidal crimes in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, resulting in the deaths of 54,981 Palestinian citizens, the majority of whom are children and women, and the injury of 126,920 others.

To date, this is a preliminary toll, with thousands of victims still buried under the rubble and on the streets, unable to be reached by ambulances and rescue teams.
