The Yemeni Standards, Metrology, and Quality Control Authority destroyed on Monday a quantity of violating goods and commodities.
The Authority explained in a statement, a copy of which was received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that the Authority destroyed a quantity of mango and orange juice that did not meet approved standard specifications. The product was leaking and damaged due to damage to the container caused by the Israeli aggression on the port of Hodeida, which led to partial destruction of the product inside the container.
It also indicated that a quantity of frozen chicken without entrails was destroyed, which did not meet approved standard specifications due to the presence of blood and discoloration of the product. A quantity of truck oil filters was also destroyed, as they are prohibited products.
The statement emphasized that the destruction was carried out in accordance with the law and the authority's powers, in cooperation with customs, security agencies, and relevant authorities. The statement reiterated that the authority will not be complacent in following up on the implementation of approved laws and specifications to protect consumers, their safety, and the national economy.
