The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Monday that Ukraine has returned the first group of captured Russian servicemen under the age of 25 from territories still under its control, pursuant to the Istanbul Agreement.
The ministry said in a statement: "In accordance with the Russian-Ukrainian agreements reached on June 2 in Istanbul, the first group of captured Russian servicemen under the age of 25 has been returned from territories under the control of the Kyiv regime."
The ministry indicated that a similar number of captured Ukrainian forces were handed over in exchange.
It clarified that all Russian servicemen will be transferred to Russia for treatment and rehabilitation in medical facilities affiliated with the Russian Defense Ministry.
The Russian servicemen are currently in the Republic of Belarus, where they are receiving the necessary psychological and medical assistance.
