The fifth round of political consultations between Iran and Italy was held, co-chaired by Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Majid Takht-Ravanchi and Italian Deputy Foreign Minister Riccardo Guarelli.
According to the Iranian News Agency (IRNA), a wide range of issues related to bilateral relations were discussed in this round of political consultations, held on Sunday in Tehran, including political, economic, cultural, and consular matters, as well as international issues, including indirect talks between Iran and the United States, and regional developments. The two sides explained their views and positions in this regard.
The two sides also agreed to follow up on some of the issues raised and hold the next round of political consultations between the two countries in Rome.
The Italian Deputy Foreign Minister and his accompanying delegation met and held talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.
