Euro-Med Monitor alleges Israel arming

Gaza – Saba:

The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor, through its head Dr. Rami Abdo, alleges that Israel has begun arming tribal militias in the Gaza Strip, characterizing them as "ISIS-style gangs."

Abdo stated that this move is a "dangerous escalation" in Israel's policy of starvation and siege against Palestinian civilians.

He noted that Hebrew media revealed these practices, which were reportedly confirmed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who publicly stated he had "activated the tribes" in Gaza. Abdo claims these armed groups have looted aid convoys, fired on civilians, and obstructed humanitarian supplies.

The Euro-Med Monitor believes Israel is not merely blocking aid but "engineering chaos" through these armed agents to perpetuate hunger and collapse in Gaza.

Abdo warned that this policy constitutes "genocide" under the Genocide Convention and a "war crime" under the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, stating that arming militias, even if justified by Israel as protecting soldiers, does not legalize grave violations against civilians.

Abdo called for accountability for all involved in these alleged crimes, citing the collapse of infrastructure, widespread hunger, and attacks on aid convoys as consequences.

He urged international bodies, including the UN and the International Criminal Court, to take urgent action to stop "genocide in Gaza" by lifting the blockade, disarming these militias, ensuring aid flow, and launching independent investigations into arms transfers and the use of famine as a weapon.

He also rejected buffer zones as civilian traps.
