Yaroslav Yakimkin, head of the press center for the Russian Northern Group, has announced that the group's units inflicted heavy losses on the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Sumy Oblast, amounting to more than 255 soldiers.
Sputnik quoted Yakimkin as saying that "units of the Russian Northern Group targeted the positions of personnel and equipment of two mechanized infantry brigades, the Guards and Air Assault brigades, and four territorial defense brigades, in addition to an assault regiment, in the areas of Besalovka, Ryzhivka, Yunakovka, Pavlovka, Yastrebino, Korchakovka, Sadky, and Petrushevka in Sumy Oblast."
He added that Ukrainian forces' losses included more than 255 soldiers, four armored combat vehicles, 14 vehicles, and three field guns, in addition to the destruction of an electronic warfare station and an ammunition depot.
Russian forces continue their special military operation, aiming to demilitarize Ukraine, eliminate threats posed by Ukraine to Russia's security, and protect civilians in the Donbas region.
