The International Committee for Breaking the Siege has announced that the "Madeleine" ship, which set sail from Italy, is now off the coast of the Egyptian city of Marsa Matruh and continues sailing towards the Gaza Strip in an attempt to break the blockade.
In a post on "X" platform, the committee explained that "the ship is gradually approaching the coast of Gaza and is expected to arrive within the next 48 hours."
The International Committee for Breaking the Siege stated that "the coming hours are decisive and critical."
It reported that the ship arrived off the coast of Marsa Matruh (northwest) at 6:50 PM GMT.
The committee emphasized in its message: "Your voice is our protection," considering that popular and international solidarity is the only means of pressure to protect the activists on board the ship.
It added: "Let the apartheid state, Israel, know that the world is watching. Your silence gives them cover. Don't be silent," in a direct call to break the global silence regarding the suffering of the Gaza Strip.
The committee continued: "Every hour, we move miles closer to Gaza, and only a few miles away, there are children and infants in desperate need of clean water, food, and medicine... while living under an endless barrage of Zionist airstrikes. Yet, billions watch in silence."
It emphasized: "This is not the time for silence."
On Wednesday, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that Israel had decided to prevent the Madeleine, a ship that had set sail from Italy in an attempt to break the blockade of the Gaza Strip, from approaching or docking off the coast of the Strip.
The ship is carrying 12 people, including Swedish activist Greta Thunberg and Irish actor Liam Cunningham.
