France announced its solidarity with the International Criminal Court on Friday following the US administration's decision to impose sanctions on four of its judges for allegedly "violating the sovereignty of the United States and its ally, Israel."
In a statement, the French Foreign Ministry called on the United States to withdraw its sanctions against the court's judges.
It added, "France declares its solidarity with the judges targeted by the US sanctions and reiterates its unwavering support for the International Criminal Court and its employees, who play a key role in the effort to ensure impunity."
Earlier, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the imposition of sanctions on four judges from the International Criminal Court for allegedly "violating the sovereignty of the United States and its ally, Israel."
