Ukrainian authorities reported on Friday that at least four people were killed in Russian drone strikes on Thursday night, while several other Ukrainian regions reported widespread shelling.
Mayor of the Ukrainian capital Vitali Klitschko posted on Telegram on Friday, "Four people have been confirmed dead in the capital. Search and rescue operations are still underway in several locations."
Emergency services earlier said that Kyiv was under "a drone and ballistic missile attack" targeting several neighborhoods in the city.
Civil and military authorities in the capital reported damage to subway lines as a result of Russian shelling.
Meanwhile, in Lutsk, in the west of the country near the border with Poland, "a massive drone and missile attack" partially destroyed a residential building, wounding five, according to Ivan Rudnytsky, the commander of the military administration in the region, via Telegram.
The Ternopil region in the west also came under "the largest air attack to date," with "several strikes," said the region's military commander, Vyacheslav Negoda.
