The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor in Yemen will launch tomorrow the Eid Al-Adha sacrifice distribution project for the year 1446 AH.

The project targets 16,160 of the most impoverished and needy families across seven governorates. Minister of Social Affairs, Samir Bajala, stated that the project is being implemented in cooperation with humanitarian partners from government agencies, international, and local organizations.

The project’s budget amounts to 18.9 million Yemeni riyals, in addition to $683,550. The initiative focuses on displaced families, people with disabilities, cancer, thalassemia, and kidney failure patients, among other vulnerable groups.

A dedicated committee has been assigned to manage and coordinate the project with relevant entities. The head of the sacrificial committee, Abdulsalam Al-Nawab, reported that 4,810 sheep and 224 cattle are currently available, with potential for increased numbers during the upcoming Takhrij days.

A comprehensive plan is in place to deliver and distribute the meat with the highest quality to beneficiaries during the three days of Takhrij, following the minister’s directives. This comes despite challenges caused by the blockade, which has directly affected many humanitarian partners.
