Maduro dubs UK PM's remarks on readiness for war as insane

Caracas - Saba:

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro described British Prime Minister Keir Starmer's statement about preparations for war as "insane" and proposed the creation of an anti-war movement in Europe.

In a televised address, Maduro called on "the people of Britain, the people of London, and Liverpool to respond appropriately to this insane and desperate call for war by their prime minister."

Speaking from Venezuela, Maduro said: "No to war. Humanity needs peace. It seems backward and insane to talk about war in Europe.

Starmer is talking about war on behalf of the decadent elites and arms producers who started two world wars before him." It has been 80 years since the Red Army defeated the Nazi hordes and liberated all of Europe, and 80 years later they say they are preparing for a great war.

The Venezuelan president suggested that European countries create a strong anti-war and anti-militarism popular social movement, and called for a stand against the war advocated by the crazy Prime Minister Starmer.

Speaking at a press conference in Glasgow on Monday, Starmer announced that Britain is working to intensify defense investment to ensure its armed forces are combat-ready amid rising tensions in Europe.

"We are moving towards combat readiness as a primary objective for our armed forces," Starmer said, adding that the country's security will be based on partnership with NATO allies.

The British Prime Minister stressed that his country will enter a phase of "war preparedness," noting that "the world is currently experiencing the most volatile period in decades."

Starmer promised to spend billions on arms factories, drones, and submarines, even if it means cutting the welfare budget or Aid.
