The Kuwait Stock Exchange closed trading on Tuesday, with its general index rising by 29.55 points, or 0.37 percent, to reach 8,069.98 points.
A total of 283.8 million shares were traded, through 17,431 spot transactions, valued at 69.5 million dinars (approximately $213.3 million).
The main market index fell by 13.46 points, or 0.19 percent, to reach 6,965.79 points, through trading of 165.5 million shares, through 9,330 cash transactions worth 21.9 million dinars (about $67.2 million). The first market index gained 41.73 points, or 0.48 percent, to reach 8,744.20 points, through trading of 118.3 million shares, through 8,101 transactions worth 47.5 million dinars (about $145.8 million).
