France condemned, on Monday, the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyards in occupied Quds by Itamar Ben-Gvir, a minister in far-right Israeli occupation government.
In a statement, the French Foreign Ministry described the incident as a violation of the historical status quo of the holy sites in Al-Quds and an "unacceptable new provocation," according to AFP.
The French Foreign Ministry also called on the occupation authorities to take all necessary measures to ensure respect for the historical status quo of Al-Quds’ holy sites.
Ben-Gvir stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque accompanied by several members of the Israeli government and Knesset, along with a group of settlers.
His incursion on Monday coincided with events marking the so-called "Al-Quds Day," which commemorates the Israeli occupation of East Al-Quds in 1967.
