Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide on Monday called for an immediate end to the Zionist aggression on the Gaza Strip, describing the situation in the Palestinian enclave as "catastrophic."
During a joint press conference with his Jordanian counterpart, Ayman Safadi, in the capital Amman, Eide stated: "The situation we are witnessing in Gaza is catastrophic and unbelievable—it must stop immediately."
The Norwegian minister emphasized that "forced displacement is a violation of international law and the expulsion of Palestinians contravenes all global principles."
Meanwhile, Safadi asserted that "Israel’s use of starvation as a weapon is a war crime," stressing that "the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza is unacceptable."
He added: "Israelis will not achieve security unless Palestinians also attain security."
