The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources, Dr. Radwan Al-Ruba’i, reviewed on Monday the performance of the General Authority for the Development of Tihama and its efforts in expanding the cultivation of grains and legumes.
During his visit, Minister Al-Ruba’i met with the leadership and staff of the authority and listened to a presentation by the head of the authority, Ali Qadi, and the survey and expansion team. The presentation included a detailed explanation of the implemented agricultural activities and programs, most notably the agricultural expansion project aimed at enhancing the productivity of staple and seasonal crops, particularly grains and legumes.
The Minister of Agriculture emphasized the importance of expanding the cultivation of grains and legumes due to their vital role in achieving food security and strengthening national resilience in the face of current challenges.
He stressed the need for integrated official and community efforts, as well as teamwork, to efficiently implement agricultural programs. This would contribute to increasing local production, reducing reliance on imports, and ultimately achieving self-sufficiency.
