Gaza - Saba:
Palestinian pediatrician Alaa al-Najjar received the bodies of nine of her children at Nasser Medical Complex in Gaza after they were burned to death following an Israeli airstrike on her home in the Qizan al-Najjar area, south of Khan Younis.
Civil Defense teams said on Saturday that the bombing completely destroyed the family's home and sparked a massive fire. Civil Defense crews recovered the bodies of nine martyrs, including eight completely charred children, while her husband, Dr. Hamdi al-Najjar, was seriously injured.
According to eyewitnesses, al-Najjar collapsed when she was surprised to find the bodies and remains of her children, aged between two and 12, arriving at the hospital where she works.
Munir al-Barsh, the Director General of the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip, confirmed that Dr. Alaa, a pediatrician at al-Tahrir Hospital in Nasser Medical Complex, had ten children, the oldest of whom was under 12 years old. She had left with her husband, Dr. Hamdi al-Najjar, to take her to work. Just minutes after his return, an Israeli missile struck their home.
Al-Barsh added that nine of their children were killed in the raid: Yahya, Rakan, Raslan, Jibran, Eve, Rivan, Sedin, Luqman, and Sidra. Adam, the only remaining child, and her husband, Dr. Hamdi, were injured and are currently in intensive care.
