Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis confirmed that the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip has reached catastrophic levels, as a result of the blockade of aid to Palestinians for more than two consecutive months.
During his address to a UN Security Council session, Gerapetritis described the situation in Gaza under the weight of Israeli attacks and the ongoing suffering as "unprecedented," stressing that the Strip is going through a tragic phase that requires urgent intervention.
The Greek minister stressed the need to adhere to international humanitarian law and ensure the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid, including food, medicine, and basic necessities, as quickly as possible.
