Spanish club Real Madrid has officially announced that it has reached an agreement with Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti to end his tenure as head coach of the first football team.
In a statement published on its official website on Friday, the club expressed its affection and gratitude to the Italian coach for all he has achieved, describing him as one of the greatest legends of Real Madrid and world football, and wished him all the best in the next stage of his career.
Real Madrid President Florentino Pérez said, “Carlo Ancelotti has become an inseparable part of the big Real Madrid family.”
The Italian coach led Real Madrid during one of its most successful eras, achieving major and historic accomplishments. He became the most decorated coach in the club’s history, having won three titles each in the UEFA Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup, in addition to winning La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup twice.
In total, Ancelotti won 15 titles during his six seasons with the Spanish capital club.
A tribute to the Italian coach is scheduled to take place during Real Madrid’s match against Real Sociedad on Saturday at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in the final round of the Spanish league.
