The United Kingdom strongly condemned the recent attacks carried out by settlers on the town of Bruqin, west of Salfit, describing them as “atrocious.”
The UK affirmed that “Israel has a duty to protect Palestinian civilians in the West Bank,” according to a post on the British Consulate’s page in Jerusalem on the “X” platform, stressing the need to hold those involved in acts of extremist settler violence accountable.
The UK had previously announced the imposition of additional sanctions on a number of individual settlers, as well as on illegal outposts and organizations involved in supporting violence against Palestinian communities.
It confirmed that it will continue to take action against those who commit “egregious violations” of human rights.
