Washington - SABA:
American officials reported a shooting incident near the headquarters of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in Virginia on Thursday, prompting the agency to close its main gate.
In a statement, the CIA confirmed: "The main gate of CIA headquarters in Virginia has been closed following a shooting incident."
U.S. media reported that "security guards opened fire on a female driver attempting to breach the CIA headquarters gate in Virginia."
Sources indicated this marks the second security incident at CIA headquarters within two months.
The incident follows an earlier shooting near a Jewish temple in Washington that killed two employees of the Israeli enemy entity's embassy - reflecting growing public anger over violations committed by the enemy's military in Palestinian territories, which has now spread beyond Arab and Islamic nations.
