Doha - Saba:
The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) mourned the martyrdom of prisoner Amr Hatem Odeh (33 years old), who died as a result of torture and inhumane conditions inside the Sde Teiman camp, in the context of the continued slow killing crimes practiced by the criminal Zionist occupation against prisoners.
In a statement issued Thursday, the Movement warned of "the tragic reality that threatens the lives of thousands of Palestinian prisoners, stressing that the policy of deliberate medical neglect, torture, and depriving prisoners of food, drink, and the most basic human rights are nothing but systematic means of killing them, amid shameful international silence regarding the abuse and attacks they are subjected to."
It stated, "With the martyrdom of prisoner Amr Odeh, the number of martyrs from the prisoner movement, since the beginning of the genocidal crime, has risen to at least 70. Among them are 44 detainees from the Gaza Strip whose identities have been identified.
This is further confirmation that the occupation is blatantly violating all international conventions and norms, the provisions of international law, and the Geneva Conventions that guarantee the rights of prisoners."
It reiterated her call on the international community, human rights and humanitarian organizations, and all free people around the world to assume their responsibilities and pressure the Israeli enemy to halt these criminal policies against our prisoners in prisons.
