The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced on Thursday that the number of child martyrs as a result of the ongoing Israeli genocide in the Gaza Strip has reached 16,503 martyrs to date.
The ministry added in a press statement that the age groups of children were distributed as follows:
- Infants (under one year): 916 martyrs.
- Children (1–5 years): 4,365 martyrs.
- Children (6–12 years): 6,101 martyrs.
- Boys (13–17 years): 5,124 martyrs.
The ministry described these statistics as... "Shocking," she noted, embodying the extent of the direct and systematic targeting of the most vulnerable and innocent segments of society.
The ministry emphasized that these horrific figures do not merely reflect the innocent lives lost, but also the scale of the humanitarian catastrophe and the depth of the crime committed against an entire generation that was supposed to receive protection, care, and education, not become targets for aircraft missiles and tank shells.
The ministry called on the international community, human rights organizations, and humanitarian organizations to assume their legal and moral responsibilities, take urgent action to stop the aggression, and hold Israeli leaders accountable for their crimes against children and defenseless civilians.
