Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced on Wednesday that Moscow and Washington are in contact regarding the exchange of nine prisoners from each side.
The Kremlin spokesman told the Russian news agency TASS that contacts are underway between Moscow and Washington regarding the proposed prisoner swap, based on an agreement reached by Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart, Donald Trump.
He noted that "the relevant parties are in contact on this matter," but did not specify when the swaps would take place.
Putin and Trump discussed the exchange of nine prisoners from each side during a phone call the day before yesterday.
