Yair Golan, leader of Israel's Democratic Party, accused the Israeli government of killing children in Gaza as a "hobby,"warning that its actions endanger Israel's very existence.
In press statements on Tuesday, Golan asserted: "A normal state does not wage war against civilians, kill children for fun, or set population expulsion as a goal."
He condemned the current Israeli government as "driven by revenge, devoid of morals, incompetent, and a threat to Israel's survival."
Golan’s remarks gained international attention, particularly after UNICEF confirmed that children in Gaza are suffering from starvation and indiscriminate bombardment, urging an end to the daily horrors.
UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell posted on X (Twitter): "No place in Gaza is safe for children. This terror must stop."
The agency warned of looming famine threatening over 1 million children in Gaza, with 10,000+ cases of acute malnutrition due to Israel’s blockade on food and medicine
