The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) estimated that the Israeli occupation's aggression on the Gaza Strip is resulting in the death of one woman every hour.
The UN agency stated that more than 28,000 women and girls have been killed in Gaza since the start of the aggression, including thousands of mothers who left behind devastated children, families, and communities.
It confirmed that the situation in Gaza has further deteriorated since the collapse of the ceasefire last March, exacerbated by the ongoing Israeli blockade on humanitarian aid for nearly nine weeks.
The agency highlighted that Gaza's population is suffering from severe shortages of food and essential supplies, with increasing risks of famine, meaning every woman and girl is facing catastrophic levels of hunger.
The death toll from the Israeli occupation forces' aggression on the Gaza Strip has risen to 53,573 martyrs and 121,688 injured since October 7, 2023.
