Discussion on ways to support activities deaf & mute care association in Capital Secretariat

Sana'a - Saba:
A meeting held on Sunday in the Capital Secretariat, chaired by the Secretary-General of the Local Council, Amin Jumaan, discussed ways to support the activities and programs of the Association for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Deaf and Mute.

The meeting, attended by the head of the Social Affairs Committee of the Secretariat’s Local Council, Hamoud Al-Naqeeb, the Secretary-General of the Association, Iyad Al-Wa’al, and members of the association’s administrative body, reviewed the activities being implemented in rehabilitation, training, cultural, and sports fields, as well as the summer activities held at the Future School for the Deaf and Mute.

The meeting also addressed the studies and designs completed by the Ministry of Youth and Sports for the project to establish and rehabilitate a five-a-side football field at the Future School, in light of the directives of the Supreme Political Council.

It was agreed to continue the support of the local authority in the Secretariat for the association’s efforts and to follow up with the relevant entities to support the association’s activities , programs and fund the stadium construction project.

The attendees emphasized that the activities carried out for the deaf and mute reflect the role and importance of this segment of society, given the inherent capabilities and skills God has endowed them with as compensation for their lack of hearing and speech. They stressed that all relevant parties must care for and support these activities as a legal and humanitarian duty.

The Secretary-General of the Secretariat’s Local Council praised the efforts made by the association’s administrative body and the educational, rehabilitation, skill-building, sports, and other programs it implements.

For his part, the head of the Social Affairs Committee appreciated the engagement and participation of the deaf and mute community in various national activities and events, particularly in supporting and advocating for the people of Gaza.

Following the meeting, the association honored Jumaan and Al-Naqeeb with certificates of appreciation for their tangible role , efforts in various social and developmental activities.
