The video broadcast by the Brigades stated, "During a unique operation, our fighters were able - on Friday morning (May 9, 2025), for the first time in the history of the Palestinian-Zionist conflict, to down a strategic "Super Heron" drone equipped with appropriate firepower."
Saraya al-Quds presented information about the reconnaissance drone its fighters shot down. It is 9 meters long and 17 meters wide, has a flight duration of 48 hours, and can carry an estimated payload of 450 kilograms. Its base is Kibbutz Palmachim.
The Brigades stated that the most prominent features of this type of reconnaissance drone are: surveillance, It is also equipped with real-time information transmission systems and several radars.
It indicated that the aircraft can automatically return to the ground station when communication is lost, has the ability to jam and intercept wireless communications, is connected to satellites, and is equipped with day and night cameras, thermal imaging cameras, and sensitive electronic sensors.
According to the video, the Israeli reconnaissance aircraft shot down by al-Quds Brigades is more advanced than previous generations of Heron aircraft.
