Afghanistan and Russia signed five memoranda of understanding during the Afghan-Russian Business Forum as part of the Russia-Islamic World: Kazan Forum International Economic Forum, according to the office of the Afghan Deputy Prime Minister.
According to the office, the signing ceremony, held on Friday, was attended by Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan for Economic Affairs, and Alexei Overchuk, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, according to Sputnik News Agency.
The statement explained that "the memoranda of understanding cover areas such as transportation and transit, and stipulate cooperation between the Ministries of Transport and Aviation in Afghanistan and Russia. Agreements were also reached to strengthen trade relations between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of both countries."
