Gaza - Saba:
The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, Agnes Albanese, said that Israel is an illegal occupier and has no right to plan for the future of the Gaza Strip, noting that the international silence confirms the pettiness and cruelty of diplomacy.
In press statements on Saturday, Albanese denounced the international silence regarding Israeli crimes in Gaza, adding, "Diplomacy has never been so petty and cruel."
She questioned Israel's right to plan for the future of Gaza, continuing, "Israel is an illegal occupier, and the International Court of Justice ordered Israel to end this occupation and pay reparations to the Palestinians. Instead, Israel is planning for the aftermath of the genocide in Gaza, without deterrence."
Albanese stressed that the international community's failure to stop Israel's crimes enabled it to commit genocide in Gaza.
She added that the ongoing Israeli war on the besieged Strip is the "bitter fruit" of Israel's impunity over the past decades.
She emphasized that the international community cannot continue to ignore "Israel's project to cleanse Palestine" of the Palestinian people, considering it a blatant challenge to international law that must not be ignored.
Previously, Albanese said that the Western media's failure to address the Israeli genocide in Gaza "does not mean that the genocide and oppression have stopped, but rather confirms that they are being normalized," noting that all parts of the Strip are experiencing famine resulting from "Israel's deliberate starvation of the Palestinians."
Over the past 48 hours, the Israeli enemy has committed dozens of massacres, resulting in the deaths of more than 320 civilians, most of them children and women. Hundreds of wounded are also missing and are dying daily due to the lack of treatment facilities or medical supplies, a result of the blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip since last March.
