London - Saba:
English striker Jamie Vardy will play his 500th and final match for Leicester City this Sunday against Ipswich Town in the 37th round of the English Premier League.
The British news agency PA Media reported that Vardy (38 years old) will leave Leicester at the end of the current season and will not participate in the team’s final match against Liverpool on May 25.
The veteran striker will be honored before and after Leicester’s match against Ipswich, which will be the Foxes’ last home game of the season at the King Power Stadium.
Vardy announced his decision to leave the club weeks ago after Leicester’s relegation to the Championship was confirmed.
He has scored 199 goals in 499 appearances and will aim to net his 200th goal for the club in his final match against Ipswich.
Vardy has had a remarkable career with Leicester, winning the Premier League in the 2015-2016 season and the FA Cup in 2021. He also helped the club secure promotion from the Championship to the Premier League twice.
