Washington - Saba:
US President Donald Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff, announced on Tuesday that a peace agreement on Ukraine cannot be reached without the approval of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Witkoff said he discussed the settlement in Ukraine not only with Moscow and Kyiv, but also with national security advisors in Britain, France, Germany, and Italy.
Witkoff added, in an interview with Breitbart, that "there will be no agreement without President Putin's approval."
Witkov emphasized that the main issues in the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine are the issue of the territories annexed by Russia, the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, Kyiv's use of the Dnieper River, and Ukraine's access to the Black Sea. He said, "I think the main issues... are the territories, the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, and how the Ukrainians will be able to use the Dnieper River and access the sea."
Witkov also noted that "the issue of the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant is very important in these discussions because of the amount of electricity it can produce."
It is noteworthy that the administration of US President Donald Trump is mediating to end the crisis between Russia and Ukraine.
