The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip said on Monday that hospitals are suffering a severe deterioration due to a severe shortage of supplies.
In a statement posted on its Telegram channel, the Ministry said that operating rooms, intensive care units, and emergency departments are operating with worn-out medical equipment and supplies, as well as essential items that are unavailable.
It indicated that departments are in urgent need of mobile x-ray machines, anesthesia machines, and medical equipment to assist medical teams in emergency interventions for the wounded.
It noted that specialized surgeries, such as orthopedics, vascular surgery, ophthalmology, and general surgery, lack sufficient supplies of surgical instruments and operating trays.
