The Israeli cabinet approved a decision to register land ownership rights in Area C of the West Bank for the first time since 1967, in violation of international laws relating to the Israeli occupation.
The decision will lead to the confiscation of Palestinian lands, and Palestinians will face difficulty proving their ownership of their lands.
Haaretz newspaper quoted Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz on Monday as saying that this decision "will strengthen the settlements."
