The Palestinian Prisoners' Club has stated that a team of international lawyers is working to collect documented testimonies related to the Israeli occupation's crimes against prisoners, particularly during the genocide, in preparation for filing a lawsuit at the International Criminal Court against the occupation's leaders.
Club spokesman Amjad al-Najjar said in a press interview that a team of more than 3,000 lawyers is working to document hundreds of testimonies related to cases of torture, medical negligence, starvation, and various violations in Israeli prisons, to be included in the lawsuit.
Al-Najjar stated that a delegation from the Prisoners' Club and the Higher Committee for Prisoners' Affairs met with a team of international lawyers, including lawyers Manuel Dovers, Khaled al-Shouli, and Tunisian lawyer Najat Hedrich, on the sidelines of the European Alliance in Support of Palestinian Prisoners conference in Brussels.
He added, "Within a month, the file will be complete for submission to the International Criminal Court. Priority will be given to cases of torture in the Sde Teiman camp, the Ofer and Negev detention centers, sexual assaults, the deaths of prisoners, the spread of scabies, and the denial of visits by the International Committee of the Red Cross."
Al-Najjar noted that a large portion of the testimonies were documented before the war, with new testimonies added after October 7th and continuing until today.
Human rights centers have documented the catastrophic conditions endured by prisoners in occupation prisons, where violations are practiced, particularly the policy of medical neglect, which has led to the spread of diseases among detainees, most notably scabies, without providing treatment or taking the necessary preventative measures.
