India, Pakistan Announce Immediate Ceasefire Agreement
[10/ May/2025]

Islamabad – SABA:

India and Pakistan announced on Saturday that they have reached an agreement for an immediate ceasefire following U.S.-brokered talks aimed at ending the armed conflict between the two nations.

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs stated that the ceasefire with Pakistan would take effect from 5:00 PM local time today.

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister confirmed the agreement, emphasizing that it is a full understanding for a complete ceasefire, not a partial one. He added that military communication channels and hotlines between the two countries have been activated.

The announcement comes amid growing fears of possible use of the countries’ nuclear arsenals, as Pakistan’s military said its top civil-military body overseeing nuclear weapons was set to meet. However, Pakistan’s Defense Minister later clarified that no date had been set for such a meeting.

The death toll on both sides of the border has reportedly risen to 66.
