Zionist-American Aggression on Al-Hodeida Governorate: A Crime & a Flagrant Violation of International Law Principles
[08/ May/2025]

Sana’a - Saba:

The brutal Israeli aggression, in coordination with the American enemy, on Yemen’s Al-Hodeida Governorate—targeting Al-Hodeida Port and the Bajil Cement Factory and resulting in the death of two workers and injuries to at least 42 civilians (initial figures)—has sparked widespread condemnation internationally, regionally, and locally. It has been described as a blatant crime and a clear violation of the principles and rules of international law.

A Blatant Crime

The Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemned the Zionist military aggression on Al-Hudaydah Port and Yemen’s infrastructure, calling it a blatant crime and a flagrant violation of international legal norms.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baghaei stated early Tuesday that these attacks on ports, industrial, and residential facilities in Yemen are being carried out with the support and participation of the United States. He called the assaults a gross breach of law and UN Charter principles, urging the international and regional community to take effective action to stop the killings and destruction committed by the U.S. and the Zionist entity in Muslim countries.

Baghaei emphasized: “The only way to prevent further regional insecurity is to end the genocide and crimes committed by the Zionist regime in Gaza and hold its war criminals accountable.”

A Flagrant Violation

Lebanon’s Hezbollah also strongly condemned the Zionist-American aggression on Yemen, which targeted vital facilities and civilian infrastructure at Al-Hodeida Port.

In a statement, Hezbollah described the attack as a “war crime that violates all international laws, customs, and treaties.”

The party affirmed that the resilient Yemeni people—who have faced fleets, warplanes, and massive bombardments—remain steadfast in their honorable support of Gaza and its people. This aggression, Hezbollah added, will only strengthen Yemen’s resolve to impose new rules of engagement and tighten its maritime and aerial siege on the Zionist enemy, regardless of the sacrifices.

Hezbollah expressed full solidarity with the “proud Yemeni people” and saluted their “wise and courageous leadership.” The party also called for the highest level of condemnation from all free nations and urged the Arab and Islamic world to take swift and effective action against Zionist-American arrogance.

A War Crime

The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas condemned the Israeli aggression on Yemen in the strongest terms, especially the attacks on civilian sites in Al-Hodeida and its port.

Hamas labeled the assault a war crime and systematic state terrorism, stating it was part of Israeli PM Netanyahu’s failed attempts to deter Yemen and the Ansar Allah movement from their heroic support of Gaza.

The group said the Israeli enemy, which had recently suffered a stinging blow from a Yemeni missile strike, is trying in vain to restore its battered image after its defense systems failed to intercept the missile that reached Ben Gurion Airport.

The statement asserted that Yemen’s leadership remains determined to continue its honorable support for the Palestinian people in the face of ongoing genocide, and urged the Arab and Islamic nations to unite their efforts and resist these crimes.

Popular Mobilization

Palestinian Resistance Committees declared the aggression targets the entire region and expressed full solidarity with Yemen’s people, leadership, and army. They stressed that Israel’s barbaric strikes on Al-Hudaydah will not reverse the military defeat it suffered when its defenses failed to stop Yemeni missiles.

The committees said that Israeli targets in Yemen are ineffective and repetitive, and that the aggression will only result in more Yemeni missile strikes deep into Israeli territory, escalating both military and popular mobilization in Yemen to support Palestine.

The Resilient People

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine condemned the treacherous Zionist-American aggression that targeted Al-Hudaydah Port and civilian areas, describing the attack as a coordinated crime between the U.S. and Israel.

A statement on its Telegram channel said the use of over 30 Israeli warplanes under U.S. cover to bomb Yemen is part of the ongoing genocidal campaign waged by this criminal alliance across the region—from Palestine to Yemen—particularly against civilians and children.

The Popular Front said this latest attack underscores Israel’s strategic failure and inability to contain Yemen’s deterrent capabilities, which have reached into Israel’s core, disrupting its sense of security.

They confirmed full solidarity with Yemen’s people and military, urging free peoples and global justice advocates to hold the aggressors accountable.

The Usurping Entity

Palestinian Islamic Jihad also condemned the Zionist-American assault on Yemen, describing it as a reflection of the agony and humiliation inflicted upon Israel by Yemen’s armed forces, particularly after recent Yemeni-imposed air blockades.

They described the Israeli airstrikes on civilian targets as a continuation of criminal aggression against the region’s people, adding that Israel is incapable of achieving what months of U.S.-led attacks have failed to accomplish.

The movement praised Yemen’s courage and stressed that the latest crimes will only increase Yemeni determination to support Palestine.

Zionist Failure

The Palestinian Mujahideen Movement also condemned the Israeli-American aggression, affirming solidarity with the Yemeni people.

They stated that the attacks reflect the deep strategic failure of both the Zionist and American regimes in the face of Yemen’s firm resistance and inability to lift the maritime and aerial siege imposed on Israel.

The movement saluted the Yemeni people and their leader, Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi, for their unwavering support of the Palestinian cause despite ongoing aggression.

Additionally, various local Yemeni components—including the Joint Meeting Parties, the “Insan” Organization, and the Southern Movement participating in the National Dialogue Conference—condemned the Zionist aggression, which resulted in destruction of Al-Hodeida Port, Bajil Cement Factory, and civilian casualties.
