American congresswoman warns of imminent financial collapse, says U.S. may not survive as nation

Washington - Saba:
Republican Congresswoman Victoria Spartz of Indiana has warned of an imminent financial collapse, stating that the United States will not survive as a nation unless it adopts sustainable fiscal policies.

During an interview on MSNBC on Thursday, Spartz said, "If we don’t put our country on a sustainable fiscal path, we will not be able to survive as a nation."

Her remarks came on the same day she, along with more than twenty Republican lawmakers, sent a letter to GOP House leadership cautioning that the upcoming core bill to advance President Donald Trump’s agenda "must not add to the fiscal deficit."

When asked if she would support a bill that includes cuts to Medicaid, Spartz said she seeks to "improve it," explaining, "We actually want to make sure Medicaid will be better for the people it was designed for."

In the letter to party leadership, the Republican lawmakers emphasized that their support for the so-called "big and beautiful" bill being drafted in the House is contingent on at least a "strict adherence" to the fiscal framework set by the House for the legislation.

The letter stated: "Under the House framework, the reconciliation bill must not contribute to deficit increases. The budget resolution assumes that implementing President Trump’s agenda, including extending the 2017 tax cuts, will generate an additional $2.5 trillion in revenue through economic growth."

Meanwhile, an analysis by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) revealed that millions of Americans could lose health coverage if some Republican-proposed Medicaid spending cuts—intended to fund the president’s domestic policies—are implemented
