The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has forecast scattered to heavy thunderstorms across several governorates over the next 24 hours.
The center stated in its weather bulletin that thunderstorms of varying intensity, sometimes heavy, are expected to fall, accompanied by hail, in Taiz, Ibb, Raymah, Mahwit, Hajjah, and western Sana'a.
Scattered rain showers, sometimes accompanied by thunder, are likely to fall in parts of the governorates of Saada, Amran, Dhamar, Dhale'e, Bayda, the highlands of Lahj, Abyan, and Shabwah.
The center indicated that dusty weather is expected across several governorates of the Republic, with meteorological stations recording horizontal visibility of 5,000 meters in Sana'a, Aden, Al Ghaydah, Amran, and Hajjah, and 6,000 meters in Sayun.
It reported that the amount of rainfall measured at meteorological stations in Raymah was 58.8 mm, As-Saddah, Ibb: 43.6 mm, Rasaba, Dhamar: 12.7 mm, Al-Ma'afir, Taiz: 8.3 mm, Al-Mahwit: 7.3 mm, Hajjah: 4.0 mm, Dhi Na'im, Al-Bayda: 2.4 mm, and Ad Dali': 2.2 mm.
Scattered rainfall of varying intensity fell outside the stations in parts of the governorates of Amran, Socotra, the highlands of Lahj, Abyan, Shabwa, and the Tihama plain.
The center warned citizens against being in or crossing floodwaters and valleys during and after rainfall, against crossing over ground bridges during floods, and against lightning.
It also warned drivers of reduced visibility due to low clouds and rainfall, especially on mountain roads.
