The European Commission affirmed that the use of aid as a tool of war is prohibited under international humanitarian law, calling on Israel, the occupying power, to immediately lift the blockade on the Gaza Strip.
In a joint statement issued by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaya Kallas, EU Commissioner for the Mediterranean Dubravka Suica, and EU Commissioner for Preparedness, Crisis Management and Equality Hadja Lahbib, regarding the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the Commission said that no humanitarian aid has entered Gaza for more than two months.
