The US trade deficit rose to a record $140.5 billion in March 2025, as companies try to preempt Trump's decision to impose across-the-board tariffs on US imports.
The deficit, which measures the gap between the value of US exports of goods and services and its imports, nearly doubled from $68.6 billion in March of last year.
