Ramallah - Saba:
The Palestinian Prisoners' Affairs Commission revealed that the administration of "Ofer" prison continues to raid prisoners' cells, suppress them, and deliberately neglect their medical needs.
The commission's lawyer, speaking to the Palestinian Safa News Agency on Monday after visiting several prisoners, reported that the detainees suffer from poor-quality and insufficient food, which lacks sugar and salt. Additionally, repression units storm their cells, and recently, "Metsada" units confiscated their mattresses and imposed further penalties on them.
He noted that prisoners are often deprived of their one-hour outdoor break ("Al-Fourah") without reason, now reduced to only half an hour at 6 a.m. They also face a severe shortage of clothing.
During his visit to "Ofer," the lawyer met with several prisoners, including administrative detainees:
-Qutaiba Samour from Tulkarm, held in Section (19), Room (8), has been suffering from body itching for nearly a month. Despite repeatedly requesting medical tests, the prison administration has ignored his pleas.
- Abdullah Mohammed Saleh Al-Nasasra(18 years old) from Jenin, detained in Section (11), Room (15), suffers from tooth pain, allergies, and requires ointment and treatment. His requests for medical examinations have been ignored.
- Sharafuddin Adel Mohammed Abu Dayya from Halhoul, held in Section (25), Room (14), had pre-existing vision problems before his arrest and needs medical tests, but the "Ofer" administration refuses to provide them.
- Mohammed Mahmoud Issa from Bethlehem, detained in Section (16), Room (12), suffers from ear problems, foot fungus, and stomach issues, requiring medication. These health problems emerged after his arrest, and the "Ofer" administration continues to deliberately neglect his medical care.
