Agreement to implement project to restore, maintain archaeological buildings, historical landmarks in Sana'a signed

Sana'a - Saba:

A partnership agreement was signed in the capital Sana'a on Monday between the Heritage and Cultural Development Fund and the General Authority for the Preservation of Historic Cities to implement a project to restore and maintain several archaeological buildings and historical landmarks.

The agreement, which was signed under the supervision of Minister of Culture and Tourism Dr. Ali al-Yafei, includes the restoration and maintenance of several archaeological buildings and historical landmarks in two phases. The first phase includes the restoration and maintenance of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism building in Tahrir, the General Authority for the Preservation of Historic Cities, the Sana'a Heritage House, and the historic Dar al-Hamad building. The second phase includes the restoration and maintenance of several historical buildings, forts, and castles.

During the signing ceremony, attended by the Acting Executive Director of the Heritage and Cultural Development Fund, Dr. Essam Al-Sunaini, and the Chairman of the General Authority for the Preservation of Historic Cities, Abdulwahab al-Mahdi, the Minister of Culture and Tourism emphasized the importance of signing the agreement to preserve archaeological buildings and historical monuments, which will remain a symbol and witness to Yemen's rich cultural heritage.

He emphasized the importance of the project to restore and maintain archaeological buildings and historical monuments, in partnership between the Fund and the Authority. The Authority will conduct studies and bills of quantities according to the specifications of the historical and archaeological style that requires maintenance and restoration, and determine the cost of each building or monument, while the Heritage and Cultural Development Fund will finance and implement the project.

Minister al-Yafei praised the efforts of the leadership of the Heritage and Cultural Development Fund and its role in financing and implementing a number of restoration and maintenance projects for archaeological and historical buildings and monuments, as well as sponsoring, financing, and supporting cultural and literary activities and events.
