The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, announced on Monday the details of a complex ambush that killed and wounded a Zionist force near the separation fence in the al-Farahin area east of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip.
In the details, the al-Qassam Brigades said in a military statement, "During a complex ambush, the mujahideen were able to target a Zionist infantry engineering force with an anti-personnel missile and then engage them from point zero with machine guns, killing and wounding members of the force."
It added, "Our mujahideen then targeted two Zionist tanks and a military bulldozer with "Yassin 105" missiles near the separation fence in the al-Farahin area east of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip."
On Sunday, the Qassam Brigades managed to lure an Israeli engineering force into a "pre-bombed tunnel opening" near the Al-Zahraa Mosque in the aforementioned neighborhood.
The ambush began with a direct engagement at point-blank range with the force members, with the resistance fighters managing to kill several of them immediately.
Following the engagement, and as soon as Israeli reinforcements advanced toward the tunnel opening, the tunnel was blown up, resulting in casualties, according to the statement.
The attacking force did not stop there. Qassam units subsequently advanced and targeted two Israeli tanks with "Yassin 105" missiles, a locally manufactured weapon used by the resistance against armored vehicles.
In a separate statement, Qassam fighters on Saturday managed to detonate a pre-bombed house targeting an Israeli infantry force, killing and wounding them in the area of the Al-Zahraa Mosque in the Al-Janina neighborhood, east of Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip.
The Qassam Brigades also announced the detonation of an anti-personnel explosive device against a six-member Zionist infantry force, killing and wounding them in the Al-Zahraa Mosque area in the Al-Jneina neighborhood, east of Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip.
The Qassam Brigades confirmed that its fighters clearly monitored the retrieval of the dead and the evacuation of the wounded from the site of the operation, a scene that reflects the extent of the security and military blow the occupation received in this well-planned operation.
This ambush comes hours after the Israeli army announced the killing of two soldiers from the Yahalom Special Forces unit and the wounding of two others in an explosive device explosion inside a tunnel in Rafah.
Previously, the Israeli army acknowledged the deaths of an officer and a soldier from the Yahalom Special Forces Combat Engineering Unit during a military operation in the southern Gaza Strip, in the Al-Jneina neighborhood, east of Rafah. The soldiers were killed when an explosive device exploded while they were inspecting a tunnel opening in the area.
Since the enemy resumed its genocidal crimes on March 18, the resistance has successfully carried out several powerful ambushes against Israeli forces advancing into the Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths and wounding of several soldiers.
According to Israeli military data, 850 soldiers have been killed since October 7, 2023, including 410 since the start of the ground offensive on Gaza on the 27th of the same month.
