American police reported that at least one person was killed and around 13 others were injured in a shooting incident during a family gathering in Houston, Texas, in the early hours of Sunday morning.
In an official statement, the Houston Police Department stated that authorities received reports of gunfire around 12:50 a.m. in the Cherry Hill area, southeast of the city.
The police added that officers arrived at the scene within minutes and found multiple victims scattered around the vicinity of the house.
According to the police, the incident occurred during a family event where an uninvited guest was asked to leave. It is believed that this individual initiated the gunfire, leading to an exchange of shots with others present at the gathering.
Emergency and fire response teams were dispatched to the scene. At least one fatality was confirmed, while several injured individuals were transported to hospitals—some in critical condition and undergoing surgeries.
