4 Siblings killed in Fire at Jordan mosque

Amman – Saba:
Four sibling children were killed, and two others from the same family were injured in a fire that broke out in a residential unit on the ground floor of a mosque in the Abu Alanda area of the Jordanian capital, Amman, according to the Public Security Directorate (PSD).

Colonel Amer Sartawi, the PSD spokesperson, stated that East Amman Civil Defense teams responded to the fire on Saturday. The blaze resulted in the deaths of four siblings, aged between 5 and 10, due to severe burns. Two other children from the same family, aged 2 and 3, suffered respiratory distress from inhaling smoke.

Firefighters extinguished the flames, while paramedics provided first aid to the injured. The victims were transported to Al-Toutanji Government Hospital and Al-Bashir Hospital, where the injured remain under treatment.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
